Paddle Transactions Summary - preview, not yet checked on real exports

Turn a Paddle transaction report into monthly totals, fees and a journal.

Tested only on made-up files, never on a real Paddle export. Column names come from Paddle's developer docs for transaction reports (they mirror the Paddle API fields), so the tool stops with a message if a needed one is missing. The docs do not say whether the report writes amounts in minor units (like the API) or as decimals, so you choose. Dates are read as the RFC 3339 completed_at the docs describe. Only completed rows are counted. This covers transactions only, nothing about refunds or adjustments. This is not tax advice.

Set these to match your files before you drop them. Nothing is guessed. Limits: 20 files, 40 MB each, 200 MB in total, 60,000 rows per file and 300,000 in total.

Drop your Paddle transaction report here, or click to choosePaddle dashboard, Reports, Transactions. CSV only.

What it does

Check

Each completed row must satisfy Paddle's documented relations: Total = Subtotal less Discount plus Tax, and Earnings = Total less Paddle Fee. A row that does not is flagged and blocks that month's journal.

Summarize

Subtotal, discount, tax, total, Paddle fee and earnings for every month and currency, from completed rows only. Other statuses are counted apart.

Questions

Which file do I use?

In the Paddle dashboard, open Reports, create a Transactions report and download the CSV. The tool reads the Paddle Billing layout whose columns mirror the API. The older Paddle Classic report has different columns and is not supported.

Why are there settings?

Paddle does not say whether the report writes minor units or decimals, so you choose. Nothing is guessed.

What about other statuses?

Only completed rows are added up. Draft, paid, billed, past due, canceled and other rows are counted apart and the journal waits until you confirm you have looked at them.

Is the journal entry accounting advice?

No. It is a starting point built from the month's totals and the accounts you type. Your accountant decides how Paddle sales are booked. The tool makes no tax or accounting claims.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The file is read on your device.
