HEIC to JPG

iPhone photo in. JPG out.

Drop your HEIC photos and get JPG files that open in common image viewers. Convert many at once and download them one by one or as a ZIP. The photos are converted on your device and are never uploaded. Camera details and GPS location are not copied into the new files.

Drop HEIC photos here, or click to chooseHEIC or HEIF files. JPG, PNG and WebP files also work.

How it works

1. Add photos

Drop one HEIC photo or a whole batch.

2. They convert at once

Pick JPG or PNG. Change a setting and they convert again.

3. Download

Each file on its own, or all in one ZIP.

Questions

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Each photo is read and converted in this page on your device. Nothing is sent anywhere, so you can use it for private photos.

Why does my iPhone take HEIC photos?

HEIC makes photos smaller than JPG. Many programs and websites cannot open it, which is why people convert. On an iPhone you can also pick Settings, Camera, Formats, Most Compatible to save JPG from now on.

Is there any quality loss?

JPG is a lossy format, so a JPG made from a HEIC photo is not identical. At the default 92 the difference is hard to see on a screen. Choose PNG or a higher quality if you need more, and expect a larger file. Colours are converted to standard sRGB by the browser, so photos taken in wide colour may look slightly different.

What happens to the location and camera details?

They are not copied into the new files. That is useful before sharing, but it also means the photo date and camera are gone from the file.

What does it not do?

No Live Photo video, no depth data, no HDR gain map, and no HEIC output. A HEIC file that holds several images gives you the first one. Very large photos can run out of memory on phones, so try fewer at once.
